The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) hosted its annual Info Day on 12th October 2024, attracting prospective students eager to explore their academic futures. Among the highlights was the fascinating booth of the Department of Applied Social Sciences (APSS), where visitors had the opportunity to delve into the world of immersive technology.
Located in the engaging CAVE (Cave Automatic Virtual Environment), the CSD team showcased cutting-edge technologies that enhance learning experiences. Secondary school students and their parents were invited to step into immersive simulations that illustrated real-world applications of social sciences, from community development to psychology. This hands-on experience allowed attendees to visualize the impact of their studies in a dynamic and interactive environment.
