As part of an outreach initiative, secondary school students had the unique opportunity to visit the CSD.
During the visit, students were introduced to Virtual Reality (VR) technology in the CAVE.
- Immersive Learning: Students explored various VR simulations that showcased real-world applications of sociological concepts, such as urban planning, social interactions, and environmental changes.
- Hands-On Interaction: By stepping into the CAVE, students were able to move through and interact with the virtual environment, gaining a deeper understanding of how immersive technology can enhance research and education in the social sciences.
In addition to the CAVE experience, students used Oculus VR headsets to view immersive videos created by the CSD. These videos were designed to simulate real-life sociological scenarios, providing a fully immersive experience that allowed the students to observe and analyze social dynamics from a first-person perspective.
The visit to the CSD allowed secondary school students to explore the potential of immersive technology in social science research.
